Welcome to the Dutch Colonial Environmental Network

The Dutch Colonial Environmental History Network is an informal group of scholars and researchers in the Netherlands interested in the environmental history of the Dutch colonial period. This network focuses on the historical interactions between the Dutch and their environment, both in the Netherlands and in its colonial territories, and explores the consequences of these interactions.

Preliminary goal of this network (to be discussed): to inform the network members and share information on colonial population/land use/trade/infrastructure data such as old maps, historical records, archives and such, but also exchange Library or Archive contacts through online repositories, workshops, analysis, reports, etc.

The Dutch Colonial Environmental Network is hosted at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development
